ABOUT

Lindsay Brazil BVM&S MRCVS

Lindsay is a veterinary surgeon with over 20 years experience. She has spent the majority of her career working in first and second opinion equine practices and has developed a particular interest in management of low grade lameness and poor performance. This, combined with managing her own back pain, lead her to discover the science and art of veterinary acupuncture.

Lindsay has trained in Western veterinary acupuncture, which focuses on point selection based on a combination of knowledge of specific anatomical locations and an understanding of the body’s neurophysiological response to insertion of needles. A thorough understanding of the disease process from a Western medical perspective is required, and detailed examination of the patient is undertaken before needle point selection is undertaken.

The Eastern approach to acupuncture is rooted in thousands of years of culture and knowledge, and takes a more holistic approach with a different perspective on disease processes. Lindsay has enormous respect for this approach.

Lindsay now treats horses, dogs and cats for a range of condtions, including pain management for orthopaedic cases, performance maintenance in equine and canine athletes and the management of medical, hormonal and behavioural conditions.

Lindsay will not treat animals without prior discussion with the primary care vet.

Small animals can be seen at Lindsay’s home in Draycott, near Moreton in Marsh, or at the animals own home (this incurs a visit charge on top of the acupuncture fee). Horses are usually seen at their yard when a visit fee is charged.
