DID YOU KNOW?
Only a qualified veterinary surgeon can legally perform acupuncture on animals.

Acupuncture has evolved from the ancient art of placing needles into special locations on the body, to alleviate pain and increase the recovery rate and resistance to disease. It is a system of healing which has been practiced by the Chinese and other Eastern cultures for thousands of years and may be used to treat a wide variety of illnesses.
Feel free to contact me to chat about whether acupuncture is likely to be suitable for your animal and what is involved.

How does acupuncture in animals work?

A fine needle inserted through the skin generates many responses within an animal's nervous and endocrine (hormone) systems. Acupuncture increases the body's release of natural painkillers (endorphins and serotonin) and modifies pain pathways in the brain and spinal cord.
It can affect muscles, bones and joints, the circulatory, reproductive, digestive and urinary systems, as well as antibody production and hormone output.
Acupuncture is a very useful adjunct to conventional approaches to veterinary medicine.
